We are Team Gena Ryder and We Know Pueblo. Throughout our career we have helped thousands of clients buy and sell their homes in Pueblo County, and we pride ourselves on the relationships we have built with each of them. Our goal is to make the home buying or selling process fun, easy, and stress-free. It all began in 1973 when Gene Derichsweiler moved his family of 6 to Pueblo, Colorado from Denison, Texas. Here, he designed a manufacturing plant that employed many Pueblo residents. Gene’s wife, Mary Helen was the first generation of our real estate legacy. Mary Helen worked mostly land transactions, and was one of the first women to own a cell phone. She started her career in 1983 and worked her way into real estate in Pueblo in one of the hardest markets our country has seen before she retired in 1998.

Her oldest daughter, Gena Ryder started her real estate career in 1997 with RE/MAX of Pueblo. At the very beginning of her career, she was told that she had one year to make the decision to be a full-time Realtor because RE/MAX did not hire part-time Realtors at the time. Gena hit the ground running, and within 6 months, quit her full-time job to be a full-time Realtor. She went on to become the Rookie of the Year in her first year, and later on, the first woman to make the Platinum Club in Pueblo.

Gena’s oldest son, Nick Nidey started his real estate career in 2006 at RE/MAX of Pueblo. Nick became a leading expert in foreclosures and investment properties. He then grew to be a great all-around real estate agent helping buyers and sellers obtain their dream.

In 2010, amidst one of the Nation’s biggest housing crises, Gena and Nick formed Team Gena Ryder. Gena with a growing portfolio of bank foreclosure listings, and Nick with a growing database of investors, they teamed up to more efficiently help their buyers and sellers. Together, they built and maintained relationships with both Sellers and Buyers which grew them to become one of the first successful teams in Pueblo. Throughout the years, they have achieved Chairman’s Award through RE/MAX of Pueblo.

In 2018, the Pueblo market changed again and Team Gena Ryder saw the need to expand even more to help more Buyers and Sellers. Alicia Irwin, from Ft. Worth, Texas came to Pueblo to attend college and play soccer at CSU-Pueblo. She started her real estate career in 2017 in Colorado Springs. She quickly learned that a smaller, more intimate community was a better fit for her, taking her wealth of knowledge back to Pueblo and joining Team Gena Ryder at the beginning of 2018.
